Body shops have come under increasing pressure in the last decade to ensure that their Spray booth oven and associated equipment comply with various forms of legislation, from manufacturer audits to Health & Safety Executive inspections. The owner of a body shop is legally responsible for ensuring all equipment such as their spray booth, is serviced and maintained regularly and in accordance with all relevant legislation. This spray booth testing is designed to ensure equipment is not just running efficiently but also within the environmental parameters to protect the health and safety of your employees and the general public.
Spray Booth Testing Carried Out By Qualified Engineers at Regular Intervals
According to COSHH legislation, spray booth testing and maintenance should be carried out at intervals not to exceed 14 months, in addition to being legally compliant regular servicing of the spray booth also ensures that the equipment is performing at optimum efficiency.
Isocyanate paint material found in paint used within spray booths, if not controlled properly can be detrimental to your employee’s health and can lead to a number of health conditions such as asthma. Mist Clearance Tests (Smoke Clearance), Breathing Air Quality Tests and Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) tests are all required periodically according to the Health & Safety Executive to ensure the safety of equipment used to avoid damage to the health of your employees and monitor the functionality of your equipment.
