Spray Booth Mist Clearance Testing
It is important that users of the spray booth know exactly how long it takes to clear paint mist from the spraybooth and more specifically how long isocyanate particles are likely to be present in the cabin. Spray booth mist clearance times should be displayed outside the booth at each personnel entry point to ensure operators know when it is safe to re-enter after spraying. Exposure to isocyanate particles can lead to occupational asthma.
Ensure Your Paint Booth Adheres To Smoke Test Requirements
AGM Services provide spray booth mist clearance tests to ensure your equipment adheres to Health and Safety legislation. The tests are carried out by an engineer, following the HSE approved testing procedure. The spray booth is filled with smoke and when the extraction system is turned on the clearance time is recorded. The AGM Service Engineer will place a notice on the outside of the spray booth at both the vehicle and personnel doors as a warning to painters and other personnel who may use the spray booth, that it is unsafe to re-enter without Personal Protective Equipment before the recorded time has lapsed. COSHH Legislation advises that these tests are carried out at no greater than 14 month intervals. Most customers have mist clearance tests carried out at the time of a spray booth service.
