CarComm chooses AGM Services to help reduce energy costs and carbon emissions

carcomm choose agm service

Who are CarComm?

CarComm Coachworks Ltd is one of the largest commercial vehicle repair specialists across London and the surrounding counties.

They are a carbon neutral and award winning commercial vehicle repair centre and specialise in commercial vehicle crash repairs, resprays, refurbishment and insurance work. They offer a wide range of services across accident repair, colour change and bodywork, fleet refurbishment, cab and chassis alignment and replacement graphics for all makes and models of HGV and LCV commercial vehicles.

Their MD, Jason Mole saw AGM Services Sales Director, Wesley Young, present at an industry event talking about the Optimal Energy Upgrade Pack they offer for bodyshops existing Spray booths and approached him afterwards, as CarComm were using AGM for their spray booth servicing and preventative maintenance.

What is the Optimal Energy Upgrade Pack?

The Optimal Energy Pack by AGM includes a number of spray booth upgrade options that can be retrofitted to existing equipment. Energy saving features include LED lighting and auxiliary air movement systems such as Junair Spray Booths QADSTM, which reduces base coat flash-off time and paint curing time and makes it possible for baking at lower temperatures, using significantly less energy.

These features not only reduce the cost and time involved but also reduce carbon emissions, which is crucial for CarComm.

PayBack

One of the key questions we’re asked at AGM when we provide a quote for upgrading a spray booth relates to the payback.

The payback term is affected by a few things, energy prices which have increased massively over the last few years but also fluctuating quite significantly, customers work volumes which can be increased due to time savings from part of the upgrade pack and the performance of the existing Spray booth, the poorer it is to start with the quicker the payback.

What’s clear, is that by comparing a spray booth with no energy saving technology to one with the full Optimal Energy Pack and QADs – the savings are between 50-70% and typically this gives an average ROI of 12-18 months.

Energy prices may go up further, they may go down a little, but they’re certainly double or treble what they were when most of the existing Spray booths in the market were purchased when this technology wasn’t as in demand. And as the focus on this Summers strange weather conditions in the UK and across Europe have refocused Governments on the Net Zero 2050 targets, likely new taxes on carbon consumption will add another level of cost on business over the next few years. Carbon savings are immediate as well as cost savings, they go hand in hand, being ahead of the curve will save businesses money ahead of increases.

What the Customer Said;

Jason commented that “the system we have now will provide us with a high level of efficiency and is already significantly reducing costs, but also ensures we remain carbon neutral and minimise the impact we have on the environment. Ultimately, it will also make us more competitive and able to deliver value to our varied range of customers around the London area”
