Success for AGM Operations Director

Don’t worry if you missed the feature you can read Fiona’s interview here;

1. Briefly describe your career path to date?
My first job after University was as a Quality Auditor in food manufacturing. I went on to complete a Masters in Environmental Health, still working as a QA by day and studying evenings and weekends. When I graduated 2 years later, I accepted a role as Technical Manager. I then started with AGM as the Business Operations Manager, in addition to my role I did day release work experience with the Local Council in their Environmental Health Department. In early 2016 I was promoted to Operations Director.

2. What/who inspires you?
My Father. I inherited my work ethic from him, he started a business at a young age whilst raising a family. At the beginning he was working 17 hours a day and often brought work home.

3. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
AGM take on apprentices and it’s my role to mentor them. Watching them develop from shy young adults into fully fledged engineers is always rewarding, one of our most experienced engineers started as an apprentice.

4. I’m good at…
playing in defence for my local hockey team and problem solving, I’m good at thinking on my feet.

5. I need to get better at…

pulling my weight on the brew run.

6. In the next 12 months I intend to…
achieve the certificate of competence in control of LEV systems – there are currently only 2 people in the UK with this accolade. I think it’s very important that spraybooth engineers are up to date with qualifications and industry standards so I also want to support the AGM engineering team in becoming P601 qualified.
